

BSNL has announced special offers to mark India’s 80th Independence Day. Under its Freedom 2.0 offer, the telecom company is providing SIM cards for just Re 1. BSNL Andhra Pradesh CGM M. Seshachalam said the company is also offering a Fiber Super Plus OTT plan at Rs 1,111 per month, featuring 200 Mbps high speed internet and up to 5,000 GB of monthly data. The plan also includes access to 25–27 OTT platforms, unlimited 24x7 voice calls and a dual-band Wi-Fi ONT router.
BSNL has also relaunched its satellite phone service. Seshachalam said the satellite phone can work across the country and is being offered with a SIM. He highlighted BSNL’s indigenous 4G technology developed as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The company currently has around one lakh signal towers nationwide, including 6,850 towers in Andhra Pradesh. BSNL also plans to expand beyond telecom services into hardware services.
Seshachalam said BSNL recorded revenue of around Rs 24,000 crore nationally last year, while its Andhra Pradesh operations generated about Rs 1,100 crore. The company has set a target of Rs 1,400 crore for AP this year. He also said 5G trials are currently underway and services are expected to be launched within the next five to six months.
