Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL), a joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), has achieved a major milestone by successfully manufacturing and supplying the 400th fuselage for the AH-64E Apache attack helicopter from its advanced facility in Hyderabad. The fuselages manufactured in India are integrated into complete helicopters and supplied to military forces in several countries, including the United States. Boeing supplied six Apache helicopters to the Indian Army last year, while the Indian Air Force currently operates 22 AH-64E Apaches.
Established in 2016, TBAL employs more than 750 engineers and technical specialists and uses advanced robotics, automation and aerospace manufacturing technologies to produce fuselage aerostructures for Apache helicopters. Spread across 52,000 square metres in Hyderabad, the facility has emerged as an important centre for aerospace manufacturing. TBAL said the achievement reflects the growing maturity of India’s aerospace ecosystem and the country’s increasing integration into global defence supply chains.
