Akash Ambani Gets New Role at Jio

Akash Ambani has been appointed as the Managing Director of Jio Platforms, the digital services arm of Reliance Industries. The company stated in its regulatory filing that the appointment came into effect from April 9 and will remain valid for a five year term. The development gains significance as Jio Platforms is preparing for its upcoming IPO.

Akash Ambani has been serving on the board of Reliance Jio Infocomm since 2014 and became Chairman in 2022. Under his leadership, Jio achieved rapid subscriber growth shortly after its launch. The company also reported strong financial performance for the 2026 fiscal year, recording substantial revenue and net profit growth.
