Bharti Airtel is set to introduce an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered spam protection tool to curb the rising menace of spam in SMS communications. The system will also analyze web links received through Google’s messaging platform to detect suspicious content. Both companies stated that the initiative aims to safeguard users from digital fraud and enhance overall messaging security.
With the integration of Google’s Rich Communication Services (RCS) into Airtel’s network intelligence framework, fraudulent messages can be identified and blocked proactively. In addition, users will be able to receive high-quality images, videos, and interactive messages in a more secure environment.
Airtel revealed that over the past year and a half, it has successfully blocked approximately 7,100 crore fraudulent calls and 290 crore spam messages. The company expressed confidence that the newly introduced AI-driven measures will further strengthen efforts to combat spam and digital fraud effectively.
